Believe me, chess is not all about making the right moves. It's also about having the right attitude. Greatness awaits those who are courageous enough to holding their ground, especially when they're already in the brink of death, to keep on fighting, to give it all up to their last gasp of breath, in their irrepressible will to repel defeat, to taste triumph with all their strength and might.

The unquenchable spirit to fight - that's what untitled Rulp Ylem Jose showed in her gallant game against WGM Ella Pitam of Israel in Round 4 of the 2010 Chess Olympiad (Women). This heroic Pinay was like Joan of Arc in this game. She's simply adorable!! Watch this game and fall in love with Ylem.

Our Pinay Team certainly deserved a red carpet for their classy performance (2:2) in this round against powerhouse Israel. Holding a strong team to a draw is more than a win for a truly underdog team.

If this young team is well taken care of by our government and concerned chess community, this group can bring the Philippine Women chess to greater heights.
