Almost swept by Team Romania in Round 2, the Philippine Women's Team came back strongly in Round 3 to rout Team Qatar via a 4-0 demolition.
The demolition is expected, though, against Qatar whose strongest player has an Elo rating of 1736.
But then again, just like in Round 2, our team will be pitted against a tough opponent, this time against No.23 seed Team Israel in Round 4. This Israeli team will field one IM, two WGMs, and one WFM against our two WFMs and two untitled players. Kinda frightening, hah?
But I strongly believe that our Pinay Gabrielas are ready to slug it out against Team Israel. I guess this is the match that can really gauge the strength of our women's team.

I got a glimpse on some games of the top women's in the Angping Rapid Cup at Philsports, sila Cheradee and Jose parang men's strength kung maglaro.
Jedara is more careful but stable. And Jose won the BOGM which means the WFM or WIM titles that other Pinays got doesn't matter.
Ipagpatuloy ang good start!! All the best in the rd5 match vs Argentina. Hindi soccer yan, kundi chess, we can surprise again!

I am sorry but I beg to disagree with Tony. Titles really matter. If not, then what is it for? I think consistency is the key point in here. You may have a good shot at this tournament but how about other, or previous tournaments? Other Pinays with their "hard-earned" titles (WFM and WIM) have proven theirselves by being consistent in local and international tournaments. A good example are the earlier Battle of the Grandmasters. Please see link to see what I mean.

Who among the Pinays are always on the top? The answer: Those WITH TITLES. And what makes it sweeter, is that by remarkable performance in these tournaments, they were able to gain their titles. If Jose is really good, then she will have her title soon.
I am pro-PINAY. But lets give the credit to whom the credit is due for.
