YAON, GIMUTAO LEAD CABUYAO CHESS

STCAA (Southern Tagalog Calabarzon Athletic Association) champion Michelle Yaon (in photo) and Cabuyao kiddie champion John Joseph Gimutao lead the entries in the kiddies division of the 2nd Cabuyao Rapid Chess Championship on May 8 at the Pulo National High School in Cabuyao, Laguna.

Other early entries include Renzel Joyce Polido, Chrales Lijauco, Nicole Ann Pedrina, Zyrhel Pedrina, Marchel Pangilinan, Dec-Dec de Guzman, Alyssa Miguel, Joemar Mendiogarin, John Vic Mendiogarin, Andrew Asino, Anne Asino, Rain Zerlyn Manaig, Alexandra Sydney Paey, Levely Beltran and Nicole Taopa.

“Players who live and work in Laguna are eligible to join,” said tournament organizer Dr. Alfredo Paez.

For the open division, early registrants are Richie Joscon, Rico Belicina, Roy Manaloto, Vic Vargas, Bryan Cryil Martinez, Michaela Fajardo, Bren Sasot, Gerlyn Medina, Michael Lico, Jack Jacinto, Cesar Nikko Sechico, Anthony Galeon and Jesus Gimutao.
