PACE 3rd Leg Kiddies and 2nd Leg Active Open Chess Championship

The Philippine Academy for Chess Excellence (PACE) resumes the schedule for the 3rd Leg Kiddies (16 Yrs Old Under) Chess Championship on May 15, 2010 Saturday 10:00am and 2nd Leg Active Open Chess Championship (2100 & Below NCFP Rapid Rating) on May 16, 2010 Sunday 10:00am at the PACE HQ, 2nd Floor 56 Mindanao Ave., Project 6, Quezon City.

At stake for the Kiddies Chess Championship Elimination Leg are: Champion P 2,500.00 plus Trophy, 2nd Place P 1,500.00 plus Medal, 3rd Place P 1,000.00 plus Medal, 4th Place P 800.00 plus Medal, 5th Place P 500.00 plus Medal, 6th to 10th Place P 300.00 Each, Top Under 14 Boys – P 500.00, Top Under 14 Girls, Top Under 12 Boys– P 500.00, Top Under 12 Girls– P 500.00, Top Under 10 Boys– P 500.00, Top Under 10 Girls– P 500.00, Top Under 8 Boys– P 500.00, Top Under 8 Girls– P 500.00 plus Category Winners will receive each a Certificate of Award.

While the Prizes for Active Open Chess Championship are: Champion P 4,000.00 plus Trophy, 2nd Place P 2,000.00 plus Medal, 3rd Place P 1,000.00 plus Medal, 4th Place P 800.00 plus Medal, 5th Place P 500.00 plus Medal, 6th to 10th Place P 300.00 Each, Top Women 1st Place – P 1,500.00 Medal, Top Women 2nd Place – P 800.00 Medal, Top Women 3rd Place – P 500.00 Medal, Top Under 2000, 1900, 1800 – P 500.00 Each and Top Unrated – P 500.00.

GM Jayson Gonzales, founder of PACE is inviting all interested participants to join the Kiddies and Active Open in preparation for Leg Qualifiers advance to the Grand Finals on November 27-28, 2010 and Quarterfinals on December 12, 2009, respectively.

However, the schedule for the next summer chess classes with five(5) days- ten(10) sessions are still open for the 4th Batch Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate and Advance Level on May 17-21, 2010.
