Cristobal rules PACE's 3rd Leg Kiddies

SAN SEBASTIAN COLLEGE bet Christian Paulo Cristobal emerged the champion in the Philippine Academy for Chess Excellence (PACE) 3rd Leg Kiddies (16 Yrs Old Under) Chess Championship, which ended Saturday night at the PACE headquarters , 2nd Floor 56 Mindanao Ave., Project 6, Quezon City.

Cristobal scored six straight wins and settled for a draw with Far Eastern University (FEU) pride Ahvix Alfonso in the seventh and final round enroute to the coveted title.

Cristobal finish undefeated with 6.5 points, full point ahead with solo second placer Normel de Jesus of Sto. Nino Academy in Bocaue, Bulacan who tote 5.5 points.

Alfonso, on the other hand notch 5 points, the same output of Jose Castro, Enrica Villa, Elijah Maliam, Virgen Gil Ruaya, Prince Kenneth Reyes and Louelle Jude Que.

No less than PACE founding head GM Jayson Gonzales and NAPCA head Boyet Tardecilla led the closing rites.
