Tournament Rules and Regulations

Eligibility
The tournament is open to all Filipino chess players, foreign individual may also join.

There will be (3) three categories;
1 Group A - All Master Invitational
2 Group B - Open
3 Group C - Under_16

Mode of play and rate:
Group A (32 participants only)
Knock out system
Time control: 10 minutes with 3 sec. increment of 2 games
Tie break is: (1) one game: 6/5 Armageddon
Group B and C
(7) Seven-round Swiss system with (20) minutes each player
Tie break: Direct Encounter, Buchholz, Sonnenborne Berger, Sum of
Progressive Score, More number of games won

● The Laws of Chess as approved by FIDE shall govern.
● Rankings of players for Group A will be based on the latest FIDE ratings
● Rankings of players for Group B & C will be based on the latest NCFP standard ratings
● Use of mobile phones inside the tournament area is strictly prohibited. Players
with mobile phones must switch off or put into silent mode their phones while playing. A player who violates this rule shall LOSE his/her game by forfeiture.
● Participants must observe proper dress code. (no sandals, slippers or sandos)
● The organizer has the rights to disqualify participant/s who will not follow the proper dress code rule

Registration:
Deadline of registration will be on March 25, 2010
*(strictly no registration on the date of the tournament)
The first 100 early registrants will receive a laptop bag
The next 50 early registrants will receive a cellular phone case
The tournament will be limited to 300 participants on a first come first served basis only.

Group A - (FREE)
Group B - Php300.00
Group C - Php250.00

Champion - Php 7,000.00 + trophy and cellular phone
2nd place - Php 5,000.00 + trophy
3rd place - Php 4,000.00 + trophy
4th place - Php 3,000.00
5th place - Php 2,000.00
6th – 10th place - Php 500.00 each
Top Female - Php 500.00

Group C- 16_under
Champion - Php 3,000.00 + trophy and cellular phone
2nd place - Php 2,000.00 + trophy
3rd place - Php 2,500.00 + trophy
