The Far Eastern University men's chess team proved its dominance in the National Capital Region late Tuesday when it ruled the NCR leg of the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) National Games at the Manila Business College in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The reigning UAAP chess champion defeated NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) titlist Colegio San Juan De Letran (3.5-0.5) in the penultimate round then blanked LCAA (Local Colleges Athletics Association) champion Asia Pacific College (4-0) in the final round to finish with 14.0 points in the tournament.
The Morayta-based school earlier edged NCR-SCUAA (National Capital Region-State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association) winner Rizal Technological University (2-5-1.5) and blasted NAASCU (National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities) title-holder New Era University (4-0).
With the victory, FEU will represent the NCR region in the national finals slated on February 23 at the Rizal Technological University in Mandaluyong City.

ncr should divide into groups: ncr north and ncr south for future upcoming collegiate national sports competition like CHED games because it is not fair for the rest of the country's regions considering ncr has all the bulk of schools and also the modern facilities, not to mentioned they also scouted and eventually got the best athletes from other regions.so, please be fair to other regions otherwise just do the competition in the ncr and just do it among yourslves....the rest of the regions should have boycotted because its not fair and just for them.....
Very interesting comment indeed. An idea worth pursuing by those concerned.
