Young Pinoy tops Susan Polgar Boys Under-8

Six-year old rising star Stephen Rome Pangilinan brought honor to the Philippines by ruling the Susan Polgar Boys Under-8 tournament in the recently concluded Las Vegas International Chess Festival.

Remarkably, Pangilinan finished the tournament with a perfect score of 5/5, lording over a 37-player battlefield. See HERE how he stood the tallest of them all.

The inspiring feat of this young Pinoy chess gem got a spotlight in GM Susan Polgar’s blog HERE.

He represented the Philippines in this prestigious chess event with two other Filipino players namely, 14-year old Carmela Galve and 12-year old Gino Divino Cabual.

Cabual also made the country proud by finishing tied from 3rd to 4th place in the Open Unrated Section. Peek at Cabual’s achievement HERE.

Congratulations!!!
