Mrs. Lenny So sent me some pictures of the goodwill match dubbed as the “Battle of Youth 2009” between the 8-year old Fil-Am promising player Chad Moody and GM Wesley So in Parañaque City last June 6.
Chad’s mother is a Pinay from Bohol who’s married to Scott Moody, an American. This boy is reported to be making some waves in the US, being the current state champion of North Carolina K-3 category.
The National Chess Association of Philippine Arbiters, Inc. (NAPCA) and the Brgy, Don Bosco Chess Club Parañaque City (BDBCC) staged the event.

Benjamin Snider is the current NC K-3 State Champion. Chad Moody placed second according to United State Chess Federation Website. Still a great accomplishment for Chad.
