10th ASEAN+ Age-Group Chess Championships Round 4

A heartwarming news. Our young Pinays are leading the Philippine campaign in an international chess tournament.

Cherry Ann Mejia (Girls 14) and Jedara Docena (Girls 20) sustained their perfect form after thrashing their respective Round 4 opponent in the ongoing 10th AAGCC.

Mejia and Docena now lead their respective category for possible gold medal haul. Notably, Docena (1999) is parading a 2727 performance rating through Round 4, beating the No.1 seed WFM Hoang Thi Nhu Y (2123) of Vietnam in Round 1.

Another young Pinay campaigner is doing great so far. Mira Mirano (Girls 12) is in solo second spot with 3.5 points, just half a point behind category leader WCM Wadra Aulia Medina of Indonesia.

Go young Pinays!! Wave the Philippine flag and bring home the gold.
