Spotlight

For sure, the attention of Filipino chess fans will once again revolve around an enigmatic force that has captivated their passion for some time now.

The enigmatic force is real. It can move those who come into contact with.

From September 19 to 29 - yes, ten days of thrills and wait - the spotlight will focus on Lubbock, Texas for the staging of Spice Cup 2009.

The event is very much awaited by chess addicts, especially Filipino chess addicts. More so, because of the name GM Wesley.

Philippine chess has never been in its all time high as today. Thanks to the inspiring feat of a Filipino wonderboy who has magically revived chess passion in this politically fucked up country.

Coincidentally, Spice Cup 2009 will somehow cut through the staging of the 4th PGMA Cup.

Just a bit of warning. If the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) fails to give life to the coverage of the PGMA Cup, it will surely be out shun by an event that is very very far from the Philippines.

With the use of technology, the coverage of Spice Cup might even look "closer" at home to Filipino chess audience.

I hope that the NCFP outdo its already satisfactory, if not outstanding, staging of the PGMA Cup last year.
