Philweb-Human Plus 8th LEG

Everybody is anticipating the exciting 8th leg of the 2009 Philweb Corporation-Human Plus – National Executive Active Chess Champion-ships this coming September 19 (Saturday) 1 pm at the Human Resources Development Conference Room of the Department of Agrarian Reform, Elliptical Road, Quezon Memorial Circle Quezon City.

Philweb Corporation, a Makati-based IT company located at The Enterprise Center in Ayala, is the main sponsor of this event, There are two divisions: Group A, (Executive Masters and those who have current Standard rating of 2000 and above and Group B (those who have current NCFP Standard rating of 1999 and below or those who are still unrated.) Qualified to join are professionals with PRC IDs, businessmen, entrepreneur, military officers, government employees and OFWs.

The seventh leg in Group A last month was won by NM Ronald Llavanes while call center agent, Emil Chua captured the Group B pennant. In the Grand Prix standings Dr. Jenny Mayor of Romblon has a comfortable lead while lawyer Cliburn Orbe of Iligan City has a slim one-point margin in Group B going into the last 3 legs.

There will be 10 legs with the cash-rich 16-man Grand Finals scheduled in September. The Top 8 from Group A and Group B in Grand Prix standings will advance to the finals. More participation means more Grand Prix points. Free lunch and merienda are served to all participants.
