FIDE arbitration seminar

The FIDE (Federation Internationale Des Echecs (FIDE) arbiters' seminar starts Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Executive Lounge, 3rd floor of the Duty Free Fiestamall in Paranaque City.

Asian Chess Federation (ACF) Deputy President Casto Abundo will conduct the seminar which is a requirement for the FIDE Arbiter title.

Lectures will be held over 15 hours covering the FIDE Laws of Chess and Rapid and blitz rules, Title and Rating Regulations, Arbiter title regulations, Tournament Rules, tie breaks, basic principles for organizing tournaments, use of chess clocks, Systems of playing, Round Robin, Swiss system, pairing rules.

Successful examinees shall receive a FIDE Arbiter norm from the World Chess Federation.

The FIDE arbiters's Seminar is part of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) development program to train organizers and arbiters around the country who will be licensed by the World Chess Federation to conduct FIDE title and rating tournaments. (Source: PNA)
