Angelo Comendador, who?

It was a +17-2=2 performance for GM Eugene Torre in his chess simul exhibition in Meralco last September 5.

Angelo Comendador aka "angelofdeath," treasurer of the Malibay Chess Club, was one of the two who made it past GM Torre, Asia's first grandmaster. The other winner is Alexis Elinon who is a member of the Philippine PARA Chess Team.

The two players who drew their games were World Youth-bound RP's reigning 12-under champion Paulo Bersamina and Jay Dicen of Meralco Chess Club.

After their game, Comendador had his scoresheet autographed by no less than his idol GM Torre himself. He said the autographed scoresheet will serve as a valuable treasure till the rest of his life.

"It was the most important moment of my chess life," said Comendador after his convincing win over GM Torre.

The 'angelofdeath' in deep thought.
