Bicol Chess Team Championship in Naga City

All is set for the launching of the 2009 Bicol Regional Chess Team Championships on September 12 & 13, 2009 at the LCC Activity Center, LCC Mall, Naga City.

The event is organized by Bicol Chess Association headed by its President Engr. Augustus Portem in coordination with the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP), DILG Region V, and DepEd Region V.

The tournament eligibility is exclusive and open only to all Bicolano Chessplayers but the composition of the team must meet a team maximum average rating of 1950 covering the top four players based on the July 2009 NCFP Standard Ratings.

The prizes are: Champion P 25,000, 2nd Place P 15,000, 3rd Place P 10,000, 4th Place P 8,000, 5th Place P 7,000, 6th Place P 5,000, 7th Place P 5,000, 8th Place P 5,000, 9th Place P 5,000, 10th Place P 5,000.

Individual Board Honors-Medalist: Board 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 will receive P 2,000 each. Special award for the Top School Team will get P 5,000 and the Top Unrated Team also will receive P 5,000. There will be a Team’s Captain Meeting 9:00am at the tournament venue.

Panganiban, Talisay, Mercedes and Camarines Norte State College of Camarines Norte; Naga City A & B, Sipocot, Libmanan, Pili, Bula, Magarao, Tigaon, Buhi, Iriga City, Baao, University of Nueva Caceres A & B, Ateneo de Naga University, Farmacia Uy and Pisimo Team of Camarines Sur; Sorsogon City and Pilar of Sorsogon; Polangui, Libon, Oas, Legaspi City, and Tiwi of Albay; Virac and Tabilog Team of Catanduanes; Masbate Province of Masbate and Phil.
