Wrong question

This blog erred.

The question “Who do you think will win the Battle of GMs 2009?” for its ongoing survey simply turned out to be a blunder.

Why? The precise question should have been this: “Who do you think will win the second place in the Battle of GMs 2009?”

Oh yes, with the way GM Wesley So is playing his games in this tournament, there seems to be nobody in the field who could provide the real opposition.

The question: “Who can topple GM Wesley So?” also needs to be rephrased. The correct question should be: “Who can draw with GM Wesley So?” Or, “Who will have the highest number of moves against GM Wesley So?”

The wizardry is transforming right in front of our very eyes. This young chess superstar is making the Battle of GMs 2009n as his private playground.

As if not satisfied with the thrill in this tournament, he could still manage to play online blitz games with truly strong international players up to the wee hours of the night – what a mental stamina!!

You could really feel his passion for chess. And indeed, he continues to amaze us again.
