Leviste Inter-school chess up

MANILA, Philippines - The third Dr. Jose Leviste Sr. Inter-School Chess Festival will be held March 21-22 with a banner field expected to vie for top honors in grade and high school divisions at the Ateneo Grade School Cafeteria in Ateneo, QC.

Registration is ongoing with fee pegged at P300 per participant. Listup is at the Ateneo University Athletics Office, second floor of the Blue Eagle Gym.

A project of the Ateneo grade school, high school and collegiate chess teams under IM Idelfonso Datu and held in honor of Ateneo alumnus Dr. Jose Leviste Sr. (HS ‘33, AA ‘35), the tournament is open to all untitled grade school and high school students.

Format of the tournament, sponsored by Adidas Phils. and Pidiong Cruz in cooperation with the Ateneo University Athletics Office, will be a nine-round Swiss System with an active time control of 30 minutes per player.

Cash prizes plus trophies are at stake in the event backed by Enerasia Renewables Corp., Fonemed Asia Pacific, Italpinas Design and Development and Grand Placement.
