NCAA: CSB runs away with overall crowns

MANILA, Philippines – College of Saint Benilde and La Salle Greenhills swept the seniors and juniors overall crowns of the just concluded Season 84 of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA).


The Blazers amassed a total of 368 points to claim their second straight seniors’ title while the Junior Blazers tallied 290 points to grab the crown from 2008 champions the San Sebastian Staglets.

CSB’s lowest finish registered for the season was in men’s basketball where they only got eight points for finishing sixth next to men’s beach volleyball’s 10 points in fifth spot in the eight-team field.

After winning only the seniors’ chess title in the first semester, the Blazers posted three championship wins in men’s and women’s table tennis, and teakwondo.

They only finished fourth in basketball and table tennis and second runner-up in volleyball and chess.

San Sebastian (240), Letran (210), Perpetual (168), San Beda (166), Mapua (56) and JRU (55) round up the final rankings. – GMANews.TV
