GM So rules Barley Rapid Chess
So exploded with an impressive performance of 8/9 to finish solo champion in this commercially sponsored chess tournament.
Only needing a draw in the final round, So settled for a truce with another Filipino chess star GM Mark Paragua in the 9th and final round to win the crown.

But despite the no-Queen disadvantage, So still managed to salvage a draw.
