IM Anna Muzychuk

(NOTE: Collaged photos sourced from Wiki and the official site of Corus Chess 2010.)

Nineteen-year old IM Anna Muzychuk (2523) of Slovenia, the only rose among the thorns in Group B of Corus Chess 2010 and the lowest rated participant in the group, has been ably holding her ground against her opponents after two rounds.

Her profile at Chessgames.com reads: "Born February 28, 1990 in Lviv, Ukraine, Anna took an early liking to chess, leading her to become the under-8 European champion in 1996. She has thus far achieved the title of WGM and IM. She was the winner of Women's Ukrainian Championship in 2003. In 2004 she became a citizen of Slovenia, where she is the strongest Slovenian female player. In 2008 she won the Moscow Open C-ladies tournament with 8.0/9."

Let's watch her decent game against GM Negi in Round 2:
