OK, dear readers, wish granted. We now have a chance to have a glimpse of a game played in the just concluded 2011 National Juniors Chess Championships.
Newly minted NM Mari Joseph "MJ" Turqueza, now the reigning Philippine juniors champion, dutifully shared with us his most favorite game in the tournament.
The game he shared with us was against the equally talented Vince Angelo Medina, which they played in Round 6 with MJ playing Black.
Notably, MJ's win versus Medina sealed his 6/6 performance before drawing his game against Kevin Mirano in Round 7. His six straight victories did not come that easy as he needed to hurdle young talents Jerad Docena in Round 3, Giovanni Mejia in Round 4, and John Ray Batucan in Round 5.
In the penultimate round, he defeated the reigning 2010-2011 UAAP (MEN) Most Valuable Player Sheider Nebato - with Black!
