PACE to hold chess clinic

THE Philippine Academy for Chess Excellence (PACE) will hold a chess clinics on May 7, Saturday at the PACE headquarters located at 2nd floor 56 Mindanao Avenue Project 6, Quezon City.

PACE founding head Grandmaster (GM) Jayson Gonzales, an Olympian and grassroot development director of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) headed by it's chairman/ president Prospero "Butch" Pichay Jr, will conduct the clinic for beginners, elementary intermediate and advance levels. Fee is pegged at at P83.00 per hour each levels will have a total of 24hrs sessions in 4 consecutive days.

"Simula na ang pagpapatala sa Philippine Academy for Chess Excellence (PACE) chess clinic ngayong summer at iniimbitahan natin lahat ng mga kabataan na makilahok," said Gonzales, also the tournament director of the highly successful 272 participants just ended 2011 Pangasinan National Age Group Chess Championships in Lingayen, Pangasinan hosted and supported by Pangasinan governor Amado Espino in close cooperation with NCFP chairman/ president Prospero "Butch" Pichay Jr. and Pangasinan Chess Federation president Juan Sison.

Joining Gonzales in the PACE chess clinic are Asia's First Grandmaster Eugene Torre, who is fresh from a runner-up finish in Indonesia chess tournament recently, International Masters (IM's) Yves Ranola and Roland Nolte and National Master (NM) Alex Milagrosa.
