DATMO 2009

After four rounds of play, Filipino IM Ronald Dableo is among the leaders along with six other players with 3.5 points in the ongoing Malaysian Open (Dato’ Arthur Tan Malaysian Open 2009) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Notably, Dableo defeated compatriot GM Darwin Laylo, the Asian Zonal 3.3 top finisher and 2nd Bernabe Cup champion, in Round 4 using the Black pieces. Dableo, a former Asian Zone 3.2a champ, will face GM Marat Dzhumaev of Uzbekistan in Round 5 in a Board 2 encounter.

Another Filipino vs Filipino encounter will take place in Round 5 between IM Oliver Dimakiling and Emmanuel Senador.
