Pinoy Chess Tactics No.6

I haven't heard about IM Julio Catalino Sadorra lately. I hope his father, Bing, is reading this to give us some news about his prized son.

By the way, Inno is an sterling example of how to intelligently employ chess as a means - not as an end - in furthering academic dreams.

In this treat of Pinoy Chess Tactics, IM Sadorra, then just rated 2351, displayed his tactical sharpness in beating IM Ashot Nadanian of Armenia, then rated 2431, in an explosive Sicilian encounter. This game was played in Round 5 of the 3rd Kuala Lumpur Open in 2006.

SOLVE THIS CHESS QUIZ. How did IM Sadorra proceed in this game? DON'T MOVE THE PIECES BY YOURSELF. Analyze the position first and guess for the move before CLICKING the single-move button (second button from right). To view the whole game, simply click the "Games" button below the board and choose item No.2.
