Women power: The Chinese Dragon Lady

"They're all weak, all women. They're stupid compared to men. They shouldn't play chess, you know. They're like beginners. They lose every single game against a man. There isn't a woman player in the world I can't give knight-odds to and still beat."

Remember that famous quote? I hope that this view against women be buried forever in the tomb of machismo.

Well, just look at this: GM Hou Yifan has beaten six men in eight rounds - and never bowed down to any - going into the last round of the 3rd Kuala Lumpur Chess Championship 2010.

Women are weak? This young Chinese Dragon Lady has just showed us the power of women in a sports long believed to be an empire of men.

She only needs a draw in the final round to secure the top spot in the tournament.
