Filipino Pastor wins 2010 Lancaster California Chess Championships

FORMER University of Manila (UM) standout Ruben Ondangan (in photo with kid) is storming through the competition, having won all five games and emerging the over-all champion in the just ended 2010 Lancaster California Chess Championships in Lascaster, California.

The Concepcion, Marikina native Ondangan, a Filipino Pastor in Lacaster, California who is best to remember winning the 2004 Hawaii Open Championships scored perfect 5 points in five outings to win the gold medal.

Craig Anderson (3.5 points) and Sheldon Brooks (3 points) won the silver and bronze, respectively.
