1st Campomanes Executive Chess Challenge

Everything is ready to unfold the 1st Campomanes Executive Chess Challenge on October 23, 2010 Saturday 11:00am at Patio Conchita, Beaterio St., Intramuros (at the back of Manila Cathedral). This event is exclusive to Chess Executives with 50 years old and above. This will be organized by Campomanes Executive Chess Club wherein the officers of the chess club cited that the objective of organizing is promote chess in behalf of the late Florencio Campomanes in which also spearheading the changing of Luneta Chess Plaza to Campomanes Memorial Center. Wayback 1992 Manila Chess Olympiad, Campomanes graced the opening of Luneta Chess Plaza along with the great Champion GM Gary Kasparov and some prominent world chess masters and since then it was and still visit by local chess fanatics.

Chairman/President Prospero Pichay, Jr. and Executive Director Willy Abalos were among invited guests to grace the opening of the activity.

The tournament format shall apply the seven round swiss system and the rate of play is twenty five minutes per player to finish the game. Prizes will be distributed as follows: Champion P 7,000, 2nd Place P 4,000, 3rd Place P 3,000, 4th Place P 1,000. The tournament will be supervised by the National Association of Philippine Chess Arbiters (NAPCA).
