Zanshin Machine vs Iron Chef 2700
Zanshin was using quad core laptop.
As admitted by Zanshin his machine was "dejado". Luckily it finds a tactical shot forcing a draw by repetition.
Iron Chef 2700 was using i7 920 CPU overclock to 3.7GHz. Fritz benchmark 27.5 and 13.2 million moves per second. The engine is Firebird 64-bit. In the Philippines - I don't think any conventional PC will beat this monster.

Well that's great for our GM Wesley So. But he should have more chess programs to try out with like World Chess Live Dasher, Shredder, Rybka and Fritz. But personally it is upon GM Wesley So ingenious albeit clever moves!!!
Newer "Ippo" engines like Houdini can beat Firebird 1.3 with massive scores when scaled. With Iron Chef 2700's rig specs, even Deep Rybka 4 will beat Firebird. It was shown by various testers that Deep Rybka 4 scales much better than Fire. On multiple core machines, Rybka 4 reclaims its dominance over its contemporaries.
We have to upgrade Iron Chef next year...
This is great! With Filipinos supporting Wesley So, he will be 2700 very soon.
But on a lower side when using computers, I hope Wesley So can improve his overall technical technique on a high standard.
This is his main deficiency, and computers can never teach him this. That is why great champions are nurtured and coached even if they have everything (e.g., resources, tools, etc).
Sometimes talent can only reach as far. A collective effort will make Wesley even more attain greatness.
I am not pulling him down, it is based on my observation his losses and draws against foreign players are always in technical positions...and I hope Wesley So can address this or better someone can help him in this department. Again, computers can never teach endgames because they can never explain-express their moves...furthermore experience and the psychology in playing these positions need a human touch...
