Battle of Grandmasters Round 1

Hold it. Round 1 of the Battle of Grandmasters 2010 is yet to happen on March 23. What I am showing you here is the Round 1 game played between GM Bong Villamayor and GM Wesley So in last year's edition of BOGM.

This Round 1 total demolition of Wesley over Villamayor at the start of the tournament last year set the tempo of what to expect from BOGM 2009. Remember, Wesley had virtually defended his title with two more rounds to go in that tournament.

Can we see another demolition from Wesley this year? Only if NM Ronald Llavanez is included in the cast of BOGM 2010, then he might say: "No way, I'll beat him again." Llavanez beat Wesley in All In Sports-Expo 2010 Open Rapid Chess Championship staged by the Philippine Sports Commission last month.
