RP's youngest national junior champion and the youngest reigning National Master 12-year old Paulo Bersamina stamped his class in the the Rotary District 3830 - 1st Rapid Chess Tournament (12 Years Old and Below) held over the weekend at Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Paulo defeated all his opponents in route to the championship with a perfect 7/7 performance.
This gentle chess gem, who already stands taller than I am, is a well-disciplined, polite, respectful, kid - a genuine chess jewel that shines the brightest among our young future chess heroes.
I hope and pray that he continue to grow up with all of his good attitudes intact. Congrats, Pau, and God bless!!
